FREEZER CHALLENGE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) has had tremendous success within the International Freezer Challenge since our introduction. Due to this success, UIUC has managed to be featured in both Nature Magazine, a renowned scientific journal, and Lab Management Magazine, a respected resource in lab practices. Our first features came for our efforts in 2018, receiving recognition by both Nature Magazine and Lab Management Magazine. The following year we received yet another feature in Nature Magazine for our outstanding performance in the 2019 Freezer Challenge. These features not only highlighted the university's excellence in research but also emphasized its role as a leading institution in promoting green and sustainable laboratory practices.
